Doctor of Dental Surgery

SHOVON KASEM, DMD – DOCTOR OF DENTAL SURGERY

“I feel blessed to be a dentist in such a wonderful community. I love what I do. I don’t look at it as a job, but more as my calling. Every day I have the opportunity to help people, and occasionally change their lives. It fills me with joy to see how a new smile can bring out a new personality and confidence in a person.

I like to think that our office reflects my personality. I like that when patients come here, they don’t feel scared or judged. They don’t feel intimidated because that’s not who I am as a person. I just carry out conversation and tell people ‘Relax, I’m not going to hurt you. I’m here to help you and you’re going to leave here happy.’

My approach comes from when I was a kid. I hated going to the dentist because I was afraid of shots and pain. Those past experiences always made me think there has to be a better way of doing this. I think the biggest misconception in dentistry today is that it’s the same as it was 30 years ago. That is not the case, and here at Hancock Village Dental, we are showing our patients that we can make things much more comfortable for them.

I treat all my patients with the same care that I would give to my own family. I will do everything within my power to make a patient’s visit the best dental experience they have ever had.”
